What intrecciato means
Intrecciato is the Italian technique of weaving thin strips of leather into a diagonal basket pattern, made famous by Bottega Veneta and prized because it turns plain leather into something with depth, movement and a handmade signature no print can copy. Tassels, and how they got here
The tassel loafer dates to the late 1940s, when a shoemaker reworked the oxford into a slip-on pulled together by tassels at the front. It became the sharper cousin of the penny loafer, adopted by anyone who wanted a dress shoe with a little swagger.
